Awards presented at Cyber Security Awareness Video Competition 2026 (University Level)

The awards ceremony for the Cyber Security Awareness Video Competition 2026 (University Level), the Digital and Youth discussion and the Myanmar Cyber Security Challenge 2026 (MCSC-2026) were held at 9 a.m. today at Offices No. 5 and No. 2 of the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the ceremony, Union Minister U Mya Tun Oo said economic and digital development were no longer separate but had become interconnected foundations of development. Digital technology should be used not merely as a technical application but as a force accelerating economic growth, improved public services, social progress and regional cooperation. He called for efforts towards a connected, inclusive, innovative, secure and trusted digital ecosystem.

Awards were presented to first-prize winner Maung Kaung Khant Kyaw Swar and second-prize winner Ma Yu Ya Twel Tar Oo, both from the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay); third-prize winner Ma Chaw Thiri Khaing of Yangon Technological University; and consolation-prize winners Maung Aung Htin of the Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College (Yangon) and Maung Htoo Myat Min Eain of the University of Information Technology. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the judges, and the minister greeted and encouraged the MCSC-2026 contestants.

The first-prize video will represent Myanmar at the ASEAN-Japan Cyber Security Awareness Video Competition 2026 organised by Cyber Security Brunei.

MCSC-2026 brought together 75 students in 25 teams from the Defence Services Technological Academy, Naypyitaw State Academy, Universities of Computer Studies in Yangon, Mandalay, Pyay, Taunggyi and Thaton, the University of Information Technology, Mandalay Technological University, University of Technology (Yatanarpon Cyber City) and Polytechnic University (Maubin). TiNiNi, Z4_N@7_K4 and Team_Mahawthadar, all from the University of Information Technology, won first, second and third prizes respectively. Ministry officials presented the awards.
